According to Cambio, Zayn Malik dished on how he popped the question to Perrie Edwards, and boy, is it romantic and wholesome!

Fans reported that Zayn said he proposed in front of both his and Perrie's moms in their back garden, according to Cambio.

Zayn reportedly set up an outdoor movie night in the garden, and then used the little get together as an occassion to propose to his girlfriend.

And the rest is history. Zayn and Perrie made their public announcement of their engagement at the "One Direction: This Is Us" London premiere in August, where Perrie showed up wearing her sparkling engagement ring.

Zayn and Perrie have been dating since 2012, DigitalSpy reports.

Deborah Edwards, Perrie's mother and Zayn's future mother-in-law, also previously dished some details on their engagement.

"He did the traditional asking me, and then he asked his mum and dad," Edwards said, Fashion & Style reports. "It was fabulous, it was lovely. I was like a little marshmallow - it was so lovely."

Edwards also admitted that her daughter and Malik are "really in love."

Perrie Edwards' mom also revealed that the couple don't want to wait too long before tying the knot, Fashion & Style reports.

"I said how long's this gonna be? And she said 'I don't want a long engagement but I don't want a quick one either,'" said Edwards. "I think they'll eventually get together and set the date."
