Top Five Horror Movie Home Births for Halloween Night: Don’t Call The Midwife (Video) {Video}

Halloween movies warn against the Horrors of Home Births.From Rosemary's Baby to the New Carrie, Home Birthing is Difficult, Devilish, Delivery in Movies. Here Are five movie moments that will make you book your deliveries months in advance.

Home births are making a comeback, since Rikki Lake released her documentary about homebirths, “The Business of Being Born,” home births are on the rise. Not just in America, but around the world.

South Korean pop star Sun Ye of the group Wonder Girls made national headlines for having her daughter born at home.

With the recent controversy over the Affordable Care Act, or as it's more frighteningly called, Obamacare, a lot of people are getting scared of hospitals. But before you call that midwife, remember the Halloween horrors of homebirth.

Yes, Hollywood and independent horror movies have pushed out a virtual Village of the Damned of home birth horrors. The recent remake of Brian De Palma’s “Carrie” opens with a homebirth scene faithful to one in the Stephen King novel.

Now, I know that Damien was born in a hospital and how that worked out. But here are five homebirth horror scenes that might make you think twice about sex itself.

5. Demon Resurrection

It's the devil himself and he's making house calls. Based on classic H.P. Lovecraft horror at it's finest, "Demon Resurrection" does its beast.

4. Carrie 2013

The very first scene in "Carrie" has Margaret White played by Julianne Moore giving an unassisted home birth. And when I say unassisted, I mean unassisted. Carrie’s mom didn’t even know she was pregnant and she slashes her own umbilical cord. Now, while I can’t find that specific scene on YouTube, here’s the Carrie Trailer:

3. Basket Case and Basket Case III

You’d think she’d have gotten an OBGYN after the two flicks, but no.  Not on an indie’s budget. Basket Case is a little remembered gem of horror. The kid himself is a makeup marvel and if this doesn’t make you buy insurance, nothing will.

2. The Hills Have Eyes 2

If your lost in an abandoned nuclear test site when your water breaks, don't ask the locals for help.

 1. Rosemary's Baby

Roman Polansky's 1968 horror classic, "Rosemary's Baby," showed that evil could live across the hall. Mia Farrow is having a baby. How wonderful. She's had a very difficult pregnancy, what with that awful tanis root and chocolate mousse. She's sick of her doctor and has decided to have the baby at home. What could go wrong? Nothing when the father is so well connected. A classic devil movie where the neighbors look like regular elderly couples, but have satanic secrets.
