Kpop star IU debuted her new short hairdo this week on The Music Bank but admits she still feels awkward, recalling Miley Cyrus' reaction to her extreme bob this summer.

When Miley Cyrus cut her hair last year, she made the declaration that she was done with long hair forever. It only took a few months before Miley Cyrus started having second thoughts.

Before the Miley Cyrus VMAs 2013 performance, before the naked "Wrecking Ball" video, before the Miley Cyrus twerk fest, the pop singer admitted that she couldn't get used to her short hair. Miley said she was taking vitamins and tugging at it to get it to grow back in. American and Korean pop stars aren't that different at all.

IU opened up about her new do on the SBS Radio's "Jang Ki Ha's Great Radio" on October 23rd. IU told the SBS Radio, "I didn't know today was an onscreen radio show. I said, 'Darn... I didn't bring my hat with me,' after I came here."

The radio hosts were surprised that IU would want cover up the new look when she still looked so great. At first IU blamed it on marketing, saying "I wanted to hide it as much as possible... My promotions are short this time. I think my promotions will end around next week, so I wanted to unveil my hair on stage next week. But I ended up revealing it here."

IU then fessed up, saying she was still uncomfortable. She explained "It still feels awkward. For three years, I let my hair grow out carelessly without even trimming it. It feels empty now that I cut the hair I've grown for three years."

This summer Miley Cyrus also had second thoughts about cutting her long hair into tightly buzzed style. Miley Cyrus almost immediately admitted that that she "secretly" missed the long look. At the time, Miley Cyrus revealed that she started taking hair-growth vitamins and admitted that she was "tugging" at it at night trying to get it to its former length.

Just like IU, Miley Cyrus said she liked having short hair, but she missed her old locks. Miley Cyrus went as far as to admitted she was taking the vitamin supplement Viviscal to get it long again. I guess that was better than taking the Molleys she'd been singing about.

Miley Cyrus's super short pixie cut got a lot of attention after it was copied by other celebrities. Miley Cyrus admitted to her friend Kelly Osbourne on an episode of E!'s "Fashion Police" that she was "secretly" letting it grow out again.

According to US Weekly, Miley Cyrus said "I'm secretly tugging on it every night and taking Viviscal. I'm not going to lie. But I'm going to rock it while I have it."

Miley Cyrus also revealed in an interview with Harper's Bazaar, that none of her long hair was ever real, the country star admitted that she wore extensions.

IU's new short haircut was leaked by MBC Every1's "Weekly Idol" on Oct. 22 when they posted a photo on Twitter of IU posing with the new dark do along with MC Jung Hyung Don and rapper Defconn. "Weekly Idol" captioned the Twitter pic, "We love you, IU. Milky porcelain skin IU. The 3rd floor of the underground parking lot is filled with IU's fan club."

IU released her new song "The Red Shoes" on October 8th.
