Fifty Shades Of Grey Movie Casting Update: Charlie Hunnam Breaks His Silence During 2nd Annual Hogs For Heart Fundraiser

Charlie Hunnam was first included in Fifty Shades of Grey movie casting. He was set to play young billionaire Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of the best-selling novel.

The casting led to massive Internet protests from fans of the novel, which is due out Aug. 1, 2014. Fans even went as far as to sign a petition calling to recast the role.

The "Sons of Anarchy" actor announced his departure through Universal Pictures earlier this month but did not provide any details on the reason why he left the movie.

"The filmmakers of Fifty Shades Of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey," as told by Universal Pictures.

The hunk actor made his first public appearance at the 2nd Annual Hogs for Heart Fundraises, a charity event hosted by the series "Sons of Anarchy."

"I am doing good. I am just really concentrating on work, it's been a really busy time," the actor told E! online.

"I have had some family stuff going on so just trying to stay focused and stay positive and keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family," according to Hunnam.

The actor, whose father passed away earlier this year, is currently working on the last season of his FX series, "Sons of Anarchy," he expressed his plans on heading back home to spend some quality time with his family, as soon as the filming wraps up.

"I've got some family stuff I have to tend to. So when I wrap the show, I am going to go to England and see my people and then I have a film that I am doing with Guillermo [del Toro]. So I am going to go and do that and concentrate on the final seasons of 'Sons," according to Hunnam.

The actor expressed his emotions about the show's last season, "It's obviously going to be a really emotional time for us."

"We are like a family and have become very, very close and become dear friends to each other so it's going to be sad and finish up and say goodbye to everyone, but we've got like 13, maybe even a few more, episodes."

"But I just want to finish that strong and go on to a new chapter of life," he added.

On other news, Charlie Hunnam's replacement for the role is believed to be "finalized in the next few weeks," with the Irish model Jamie Dornan supposedly taking the role.
