‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie Postponed Due To Casting Shake-Up: Filming To Start A Month Later; Will The August 2014 Release Be Pushed Back Too?

"Fifty Shades Of Grey" movie will start filming a month later than scheduled. Filming is postponed for the "Fifty Shades Of Grey" movie due to the casting shake-up caused by Charlie Hunnam dropping out of the movie. Will the release date be pushed back too?

"Fifty Shades Of Grey" was originally scheduled to start shooting on November 1, but now the movie's start date has been postponed to December 2, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

But does this mean "Fifty Shades of Grey" release date will also be postponed?

The movie's official release date is August 1, 2014, and remains so according to the official Twitter website. But that means the film has less than eight months to be completed, which is a feat for any movie, Moviefone reports.

It seems very likely that "Fifty Shades of Grey" release date will be pushed back as well.

The production delay was caused by Charlie Hunnam dropping out as Christian Grey, citing scheduling conflicts. Jamie Dornan was then cast on Thursday night, bringing relief to "Fifty Shades" fans.

Because Jamie Dornan was cast only last week, a November 1 start date was unlikely.

According to The Huffington Post, Dakota Johnson stars as Anastasia Steele in the film alongside Jamie Dornan, who was selected to play Christian Grey last week. Also in the cast are "True Blood" star Luke Grimes as Elliot Grey, Christian Grey's brother, and Jennifer Ehle as Anastasia's mom. Sam Taylor-Johnson is set to direct.

Other changes that are occurring for the "Fifty Shades Of Grey" movie?

As THR reported on Oct. 14, Patrick Marber ("Notes on a Scandal") was hired to polish the film's script, which was originally written by Kelly Marcel.

Hopefully fans aren't too upset by the delay. Luckily, Jamie Dornan being cast as Christian Grey was met with a lot of positive feedback.

Author E. L. James took to Twitter Thursday to confirm Dornan will play the lead role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of her best-selling book, The New York Daily News reports.

"Stow your twitchy palms ladies ... our man is here. Welcome to #TeamFifty @JamieDornan1," James tweeted.

Dornan is best-known for his former role in the ABC drama "Once Upon a Time," playing a part in Sofia Coppola's 2006 film "Marie Antoinette," and his career as a Calvin Klein model.
