K-Pop Boosts Spread of U.S. Pop in Korea

Just like how K-Pop is being sung in Korean by K-Pop manias in Europe, U.S. and South America, pop songs are gaining a lot of popularity among the teens and twenties in Korea. This is a phenomenon that is appearing because the fans search for the pop songs their favorite artists sang on TV shows. Korea’s music audition program has a lot of popularity and through that the interest in pop music is rising as well.

A notable example will be SBS ‘K-Pop Star’ that steadily has been getting popular since their first broadcast on December 4 of last year. The group Su Pearls performance of “Fame” has recorded a staggering 2.2 million views of the video till now. Beyoncé’s number of songs including ‘Halo,’ ‘Work It Out’ has climbed the charts again. After the contestants sang Rachel Yamagata of ‘Be Be Your Love’ and Pixie Lott of ‘Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh) the song was selected 5th place on pop music charts top spot.

Even Adele’s hit song “Rolling In The Deep” that didn’t get much response from Korea became popular after the popular audition show contestants performed the song. Pop song in Korea, K-Pop is changing into music that can be sung all around the world.
