Fans Learn Korean to Sing K-Pop

France that was considered a barren land for Korean is now facing a boom in learning Korean. Bordeaux France that is known as the home of wine has implemented a Korean class for 20 high school freshman’s for 3hours a week.

The popularity in Korean became more noticeable after the concert in June of last year, by SM Entertainment ‘K-Pop’ singers. Many fans were singing along their favorite singers during ‘Music Bank in Paris’ on February 8.

Due to the increasing popularity to learn Korean there was even a long line to register for classes since early in the morning.

Korean fever is the same in Thailand as well. According to the official request of the Thai government 54 people specializing in Korean were sent to 51 local high schools and due to that the number of places learning Korean increased more than five times.

Due to this Korean fever the Korean language proficiency test (TOPIK) has gained a lot of popularity. There has been 745,0000 people who has taken the test from 47 countries and 162 regions.
