Rapper Tablo Receives Surgery To Remove Metal Pins In Arm After Shoulder Fracture Suffered Last Month In China

YG Entertainment artist Tablo is heading into surgery on Tuesday to have a series of metal pins removed from his arm that were implanted to treat a shoulder injury the Korean-born Canadian rapper suffered last month while performing in China.

"Time to get my right arm back," Tablo wrote on his Instagram account, hours before the surgery.

He also offered his fans a bit of extra information about the state of his condition on the microblogging website Twitter.

"There's the long rehabilitation treatment left, but it will be okay," Tablo tweeted. "Even in handcuffs, hands can clap."

The rapper had been in the city of Kaifeng in China's Henan Province for an Oct. 1 performance when he sustained the injury, reported the website allkpop.

Tablo was flown back to South Korea for treatment the following day, according to a statement from a YG Entertainment spokesperson.

"Tablo received emergency treatment for a shoulder fracture in China," the YG spokesperson said shortly after the rapper sustained the injury.

"It's not such a big injury that it'll be a problem for him to return to Korea. Additional treatment, once he arrives, is planned."

The rapper broke the news of his injury to his fans on Twitter, upon returning home.

"I got a shoulder fracture in China," Table wrote in an October tweet.

The YG artist was reportedly relaxing after his performance when he sustained the shoulder fracture.

Some K-pop fans might remember Tablo from a 2010 controversy regarding whether he forged his diploma from ivy league college Stanford University.

Tablo finally put the rumors to rest when he returned to the college's California campus with a camera crew to disprove the rumor, an experience he described as humiliating.

"To be honest, I'm really embarrassed.  These people are people who saw me as a student back then, but to come back to show this kind of image eight years later is really embarrassing," he said.

"Every time I revealed my transcript, people grew more suspicious of me, and my parents, brother, wife and daughter were all targets of the criticism. I'm not crying because I feel this is unfair. I'm not crying because I'm resenting someone or putting someone at blame. Also, I'm not crying because I'm disappointed or because I feel like I've lost or let go of something. I'm crying because I feel like I've been scarred."
