Do Taeyang and G-Dragon Prefer Big Bang Over Solo Activities?

Big Bang's Taeyang said, "Nowadays activities with the group are more fun," and revealed that his 13-year friend and team leader G-Dragon feels the same way.

In a recent interview with OSEN held at a café near Hongik University, Taeyang was asked the question, "How do group and solo activities differ?" He answered that he prefers group activities.

He said, "Before, I used to think that if I went solo I would be able to accomplish all the things I couldn't do in a group. I considered going solo as a breakthrough means to express myself. But as time passed that feeling faded, and I was able to express those things even within the group."

He continued, "Nowadays group activities are more fun. Even G-Dragon said something along the same lines. It's really difficult to be on standby alone. When we're on standby altogether, we would talk and not even notice time was passing. That's why we were able to express our synergy onstage." Taeyang explained why he prefers group activities over solo activities. Taeyang released his solo song "Ringa Linga" on the 8th after a 3 year haitus. The song quickly rose to number 1 on live music charts such as iTunes in Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Macau.

"Ringa Linga" is a hip-hop song that features a rhythmical yet powerful rap and a sleek melody line, and even incorporates Taeyang's distinctive singing style and hip-hop swag. This song was written by Taeyangs 13-year friend and Big Bang leader G-Dragon, and was co-composed by a foreign composer. It blends both G-Dragon and Taeyang's unique colors very well.

Not only that, Parris Goebel worked with Taeyang on the music video, which also features 12 famous dancers from America. Parris Goebel is the leader of the world hip-hop dance championship winning group Request Crew, and was also the choreographer for Jennifer Lopez's "Dance Again World Tour." Taeyang's powerful dance and choreography left a strong impression on viewers. Not even 2 days into the release of the music video, it recorded over 3 million views on YouTube alone.
