The fifth annual MelOn Music Awards (MMA) was held on November 14th.

MMA is geared toward awarding musicians based on their internet chart scores and on-line popularity. MelOn is the innovator of on-line music service and charts, and its immense popularity allows for the MelOn company to accurately gauge music popularity on a hourly basis. It goes without saying, then, that the nominated groups/artists are among the most, if not the most, popular musicians in K-Pop.

The list of the recipients of the "2013 Top Ten" awards are an all-star lineup of EXO, Davichi, Dynamic Duo, Busker Busker, BEAST, SHINee, SISTAR, IU, Ailee, and G-Dragon. All ten recipients are prominent. EXO has the biggest fan base of them all, although BEAST and SHINee are not too far behind. IU and Ailee are two of the best female solo artists in K-Pop, and SISTAR and Davichi are hit song generators. Dynamic Duo married pop music and their love for Hip Hop to create a sensation, but it was Busker Busker and G-Dragon that swept the charts numerous times with various songs. The question of 'who will take the top spot' is a hotly debated issue.

Be on the lookout for special performances by these groups as they perform on stage in the duration of the awards ceremony.
