Alexander Skarsgard Goes From ‘True Blood’ Eye Candy To Certified Movie Star; Wastes No Time Showing Off Athletic Prowess For Epic Snow Race

Alexander Skasgard is definitely no slouch as you would expect of most stars that already have a decent financial nest. According to E! Online, the actor best known for his role as Eric Northman in the hit series True Blood is now part of the cast of The Giver.

The movie is an adaptation of a novel of the same name written by Lois Lowry. The young adult novel went on to sell over 10 million copies worldwide which earned it a place in the Guinness World Records.

The plot of the movie all revolves around a youth named Jonah, played by Brenton Thwaites, who lives in a “society” where there is no pain and suffering as everything and everyone is the same. Jonah is given the task of receiving memories and these open up his eyes to the fact that living without pain and suffering is not necessarily better.

Alexander Skarsgard will be in the movie alongside the likes of Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes, Odeya Rush, Brenton Thwaites, Cameron Monoghan and Taylor Swift who is making her second film acting appearance. The movie is definitely going to be a hit so the entire cast has to give their best on it.

As much as the entire cast has to give their 100% to make the movie break records, Alex Skarsgard still has the time and strength to squeeze in some extreme training. According to TMZ.com, Alexander Skarsgard, Prince Harry and Dominic West from the movie 300 have been training hard for the past 1 year under the guidance of Inge Solheim who is a polar guide. All this training is for an epic race to the South Pole by the 3 famous men who intend to use it as a mode of raising awareness for a charity organization. The organization called Walking with the Wounded raises money to help wounded veterans all across the globe. As much as the 3 men are all being trained by Inge Solheim, the prince and Dominic have been getting their cold weather training in Iceland while Alex Skarsgard has been prepping in the Santa Monica mountains as well as in Norway. The jetting around alone is enough to beat down many of us leave alone rigorous training plus acting on a set full of mega stars.

The Giver will be made by the Weinstein Company as well as Walden Media and it is set to hit the cinemas on August 15th, 2014.
