Kyrie Irving Confronts Coach; Cleveland Cavaliers in Turmoil; Will Mike Brown Get Fired Early In The Season Again?

In the NBA, superstar vs. coach always turns out one way. Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers fast-rising superstar and the only ray of hope for the city since Lebron James bolted, recently had a spat with head coach Mike Brown, the coach they had fired before, fired by the Lakers, and now they rehired.

There are no sacred cows in the league when it comes to coaches. Perhaps Phil Jackson would be close to the exception, but when Shaq requested a trade from the Lakers, the Zen Master was not one of the reasons. In fact, he was the only reason Shaq would stay. Veterans like George Karl or a team's best ever coach like Stan Van Gundy would be given the pink slip if they crossed paths with their stars.

Prior to the Cavs' win against the Washington Wizards, they went on a three-game losing streak capped by a 29 point drubbing at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Cavs owner Dan Gilbert was ready with the comic sans.

The team had a confrontation with each other after the loss to the Charlotte Bobcats which saw the Cavs blow a 12 point lead. This led to a 'players only' session in the locker room where 'tempers flared' according to an ESPN report.

Prior to this incident, the Cavaliers superstar Kyrie Irving had a confrontation with head coach Mike Brown after he was pulled out of the game with the Chicago Bulls. The Cavs have lost 5 out of their last 7 games and the blame game has started.

Mike Brown is in the hot seat again, a place he has occupied for the third time. Fans were optimistic about this season, with Kyrie's emergence and the first overall pick. They also had key free agent signings. Brown is being blamed for not getting it all together. Will he get fired the same way he was unceremoniously sacked more than a year ago with the Lakers?
