Ailee Fans Reeling From Revelation Allkpop VP Daniel Lee Tried To Sell Her Nude Photos: Singer Thanks Supporters

As tears streamed down the face of South Korean singer Ailee during her acceptance speech at Thursday's MelOn Music Awards, she thanked her fans for sticking by her following a nude photo scandal that led to her removal from several Kyochon Chicken ads.

"I want to say I love you to all the people and fans who have supported and loved me, no matter what happened," said the 24-year-old star.

In an official statement released on Friday, Kyochon Chicken executives explained that Ailee's removal from the ads was temporary.

"Ailee's commercial contract hasn't ended," the company statement read.

"But consumers have been showing sensitive reactions to Ailee's recent situation, and Ailee's record label is also not entirely keen on the singer's exposure at this time, so we took certain steps."

The controversy began after Ailee's ex-boyfriend Daniel Lee, vice president of content for the website allkpop and its parent company 6Theory Media, allegedly leaked nude photos of the singer to his employer.

Censored versions of the unauthorized Ailee nude photos were published by allkpop on Nov. 10.

Fans of the singer, whose most recent album "A's Doll House" was released in July, are still reeling from Lee's admission that it is his voice in a phone call released by the South Korean media outlet Dispatch in which he attempted to sell Ailee's nude photos.

Lee agreed to a phone interview on the Seoul Broadcasting System program "One Night of TV Entertainment" on Wednesday, where despite admitting that he tried to sell the photos, the media mogul denied leaking them to his employer.

"I just really wanted to see if it was possible [to sell pictures] and I innocently asked. I had no other intention," Lee said.

"A misunderstanding happened and I can only say sorry about it. But what I want to say is that I did not leak the photos."

KpopStarz reader Pja Mahsum isn't buying it.

"He said he wanted to sell the photos but never wanted to publish [them]? Really?" Mahsum wrote. "Stupidest reason ever."

Ailee fan MineSoShi99 believes Lee would have never owned up to attempting to sell the nude photos, if the Dispatch editors hadn't released a recording of the phone call.

"That bastard denied but now that there is a voice recording, he is admitting the truth," she wrote.

Yet not all of the reaction to Lee's actions has been negative. Reader Mike thanked Daniel for publishing the photos.

"Daniel, well done!" he wrote.
