2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Required $12 Million To Produce; VS Executive Says This Year’s ‘British Invasion’ Show Was Way Costlier Than Last Year

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is anticipated by fans of the lingerie label every year. The fashion show does not only involve the stunning Victoria's Secret angels but also an array of exceptional costumes and applause-worthy production numbers.

For the 2013 Victoria's Secret fashion show, the runway had a Swinging London theme. The Carnaby Street, union jacks, football players, bobbies, and mods are some of the components which made up the Britain-invaded runway.

For this year's runway show, the lingerie label allegedly spent $12 million for production.  One Victoria's Secret executive claims that this year's production was way more expensive than last year. Performers for this year's showcase included Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy, Neon Jungle, and A Great Big World. Last year, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber rocked the runway as models did their walk.

The most anticipated part of the show was the debut of the Royal Fantasy Bra worth $10 million created by international jeweler Mouawad. The brassiere was covered in diamonds, yellow sapphires, rubies, and other precious stones. Due to its intricacy, two bodyguards were even assigned just to watch out for it. Candice Swanepoel was given the privilege to model the studded undergarment.

Aside from bejeweled lingerie, 3D prints also dominated the stage. Lindsa Ellingson wore a snowflake-patterned corset exclusively created by Shapeways, a 3D-printing company. Many were also surprised when Karlie Kloss donned a skin-toned bodysuit which made her appear nearly nude.

As for the models' shoes, they are courtesy of British designers Nicholas Kirkwood and Sophia Webster.  The models paraded their outfits in several pairs of shoes including bejeweled cage boots, lace-up pumps, and intensely pigmented platforms.

The 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will be aired this coming December 10 on CBS.
