K-pop Stars' Names and What They Mean: Male Edition

You ever hear a K-pop star's name and not know the origin or story behind why they chose that particular name for themselves? I have definitely had those moments and went on Google searches searching for their significances. So to save you the trouble and time, I'm putting together a list of names and their origins for your convenience!

Infinite's L is the only member with a stage name in the group. The singer's real name is Myungsoo, but stated in an interview that he chose the name "L" because his image most resembled "Death Note's" character L so he chose that name to debut with.

G-Dragon's real name is Ji Yong and his stage name actually derives from his birth name. The "Yong" in Ji Yong means "dragon," and the "G" comes from Ji, which is the first half of his name.

BTS's Kim Namjoon's stage name is Rap Monster. During his underground rap days, his stage name was Runch Randa and somehow the stage name of Rap Monster derived from that. I wish that story was more exciting guys.

Why is SHINee's Key name Key? There's two unexciting answers to this mystery. First being that his real name is Kibum and there was already one of those in Super Junior, and secondly because is just simply easier to say.

Teen Top's Chunji's name means "the voice that covers the heavens and the earth."
