Davichi's 'This Letter' Jumps 68 Spots Into Number One On The Billboard K-Pop Hot 100

Vocal duo Davichi's new single "This Letter" made a major run in its second week on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100.

After debuting at number 69, "This Letter" is currently at number one.

The song reunited Lee Haeri and Kang Minkyung of Davichi with songwriter Jeon Hae Sung, who composed the duo's biggest single yet, "Don't Say Goodbye."

Released in September of 2011, "Don't Say Goodbye" remained at number one on the K-pop Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, a career best for Davichi.

For the second week in a row, Sung Si Kyung's cover of the 1993 song "To You" by K-pop pioneers Seo Taiji and Boys is the number two song on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100.

Earlier this month, Sung told the publication eNEWS that he did his best to bring something new to the classic K-pop song.

"I was worried that the song's tone wouldn't be complemented by soft vocals, and I tried to develop the narration part in my own style," he said.

Coming in at number three on the Billboard K-pop top five is critically acclaimed singer Park Hyo-shin's new single "It's YOU." The song was released this week as part of the soundtrack for Korean Broadcasting System television drama "The Future Choice."

Holding strong at the number four position in its second week on the Billboard chart is "Hush" by girl group Miss A.

The song was the result of a collaboration with the hit production team E-Tribe.

Debuting this week at number five, is four-member vocal group Noel with "When the Night Comes." The song features the hip-hop group Dynamic Duo.

In other Billboard K-pop chart news, solo singer Ailee's most recent single "Because of Tears" dropped three places to number eight this week following a major fan outcry after the online publication allkpop published unauthorized nude photos of the singer earlier this month.

"Because of Tears" debuted three weeks ago at number four on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100.

And Big Bang's T.O.P. became the fourth member of Big Bang with a solo release this year with his new single "Doom Dada," which debuted this week at number nine.

Of the Big Bang bandmates, only Deasung has yet to release music under his own name in 2013.

After a plagiarism controversy that reportedly resulted in a record label block on online sales, "I Got C" by comedian Park Myung Soo and hip-hop producer Primary dropped from their number one status last week to number 24.

"I Got C" was written for the South Korean TV variety show "Infinite Challenge" in which comedians often collaborate with pop stars.
