The ‘1st Gaon Chart K-Pop Award’ ceremony is taking place February 22 at Blue Square, Samsung Card Hall.

Group TVXQ topped the first quarter album sales in 2011.

The awards was divided by monthly single and quarterly album sales, this year the Artist of the Year Award album according to first quarter was awarded to TVXQ’s ‘Why’ that set the record of selling a total of 235,699 albums.

TVXQ who couldn’t attend the ceremony due to oversea activities shared their reflection through a video, “Thank you. We will continuously show great music performances from us in the future."

The ‘1st Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards Ceremony’ is being broadcasted live through KBS DRAMA, KBS JOY and portal site DAUM from 7PM KST.
