Big Bang Dominates Billboard Charts

Big Bang is sweeping the weekly K-Pop Billboard Charts taking up three spots with their latest mini-album ‘Alive.’

The weekly Billboard ‘K-Pop Hot 100’ chart released on March 9 for the week of March 10 through 17 showed Big Bang taking 5 spots.

‘Blue’ came in at first place followed by ‘Love Dust’ at number 2, ‘Bad Boy’ at number 3, ‘Fantastic Baby’ at number 5 and ‘Ain’t No Fun’ at number 8.

As if that wasn’t enough the album entered U.S. charts as well coming in at 150, right above Justin Bieber’s ‘My World 2.0.’
Billboard 200 charts are consisted of the week’s top-selling albums across all genres and ranked according to the sales date provided by Nielsen Sound Scan.

The group has set another record as being the first K-Pop group to achieve this honor. This is an impressive feat as the album hasn’t been promoted in the U.S. and is an album in Korean.

Big Bang’s influence extends the throughout the charts as they are in fourth place on the Billboard’s ‘Heatseekers Albums’ chart, 22nd on ‘Independent Albums’ chart, and fourth on ‘World Albums’ chart.

The group has been on a roll since they took away MTV EMA Award from pop queen Britney Spears. The group is proving and setting higher stands for K-Pop groups as they extend their influence beyond Asia out to the world.
