Marina Oswald Says Lee Harvey Oswald Was Not JFK Assassin on the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Shooting

Marina Oswald, who was married to JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, says her husband did not kill President Kennedy. Fifty years after the assassination of John F. Kennedy, questions still remain. Most people don't believe the conclusions of the Warren Commission that Lee Harvey was the lone nut assassin of the young president. Marina Oswald Porter, who was married to Lee Harvey Oswald, says they are wrong.

Marina Oswald Porter was born Marina Nikolayevna Prusakova on July 17, 1941. She married Lee Harvey Oswald, a former U.S. Marine who had defected to the Soviet Union. Marina met Oswald at a dance in 1961. The couple got married that same year. A year later they had a daughter, June Lee. Marina Oswald returned to the United States with Lee in June 1962. The couple settled in Dallas, Texas.

Lee Harvey Oswald bought a handgun and a Carcano rifle in 1963. Marina Oswald told the Warren Commission that she took photographs of Lee holing the guns. Marina split from Lee in April 1963. She was pregnant with their second child. In October Marina gave birth to a second daughter, Audrey Marina Rachel Oswald and Lee started working Texas School Book Depository. Lee stayed with Marina at a friend's house on weekends until the assassination of President Kennedy.

Marina Oswald heard about the Kennedy assassination from TV news. She was questioned at Dallas police headquarters about Lee's involvement in the assassination and the shooting of Dallas Police officer J. D. Tippit. While Marina gave testimony to the Warren Commission she under Secret Service protection. At the time Marina said Lee Harvey Oswald was guilty of shooting Kennedy.

Marina married Kenneth Jess Porter in 1965. The couple had two sons. She became a naturalized United States citizen in 1989.
