On the album, Rain collaborated with luminaries in Korean hip-hop such as Epik High's Tablo, Tiger JK, and Dynamic Duo. With Rain's World, Rain was able to solidify the identity of a Korean pop idol whose influences were primarily from the R&B genre. Although, many differences remain, Rain has a vocal style which is incredibly similar to J.Y. Park.

In 2007, Rain departed from JYP Entertainment, to begin his own label, J. Tune Entertainment. Rainism was the fifth studio album from Rain and his first since he left from JYP Entertainment. The album yielded both the title track and Love Story as breakout singles.
