Crayon Pop Responds To Accusations Of Plagiarism For the Second Time

'Tis definitely the season to be jolly, and might I say, a little up in arms since many of the Kpop artists are once again facing allegations of plagiarism. Crayon Pop is in the spotlight this time as they are accused of stealing a photo shoot concept from a Japanese girl group called Momoiro Clover Z. The issue of plagiarism started floating around when online communities began to make comparisons between the two concepts for the photo shoot.

When the accusations were being spread online and started to blow out of proportion, the agency handling Crayon Pop released this statement in the hopes of clearing the air: “It is our first time learning about Momoiro Clover Z’s outfit. Since we used the Christmas tree as a concept, it merely looks the same, but it’s not plagiarism. Crayon Pop’s Christmas tree outfit is simply for the concept photo, not for the stage performances. “Kkurimas” stages will be performed with different outfits and the helmets that were worn during “Bar Bar Bar” activities.“

The issue of plagiarism may be a hot topic as of late, but this is something that a lot of artists experience at least once in their field since it is a huge industry. Hopefully the allegations will cease soon after the release of Crayon Pop's new song on November 26.
