Giada De Laurentiis Slices Finger During Thanksgiving Special; No, Not for the Giblets, She was Cooking From Scratch

Giada De Laurentiis recipes don't always call for a little blood, but Giada spilled some anyway. During The Food Network's annual Thanksgiving Live special, Giada De Laurentiis sliced more than a turkey roll, taking some of her finger with it.

Radar Online reported that De Laurentiis sliced her finger open while slicing a turkey roll live on Saturday. The recipe improvisation was witnessed by celebrity chefs Ina Garten, Alton Brown and Bobby Flay. Giada De Laurentiis immediately left the show to receive medical attention for her deep cut.

Radar reports that Giada De Laurentiis left the set for about fifteen minutes and came back to finish the special with her finger bandaged. A witness to the accident said "She seemed to go pale and got very quiet putting pressure on it and whispering to Ina that it was bad. She looked like she was about to faint."

Giada De Laurentiis took to Twitter to tell her fans that she needed stitches, but that her finger should heal in about two weeks.

Giada shared a picture of the finger on Instagram with the captionm "an adjustment to my normal mani." De Laurentiis also retweeted a Twitter post from Alton Brown saying they found "the end of Giada's left index finger in the stuffing. Rushing to hospital now."
