K-Pop Crossover: English Songs Covered By Korean Idols, Lee Hi, CL, Shinee, Taeyang, Ailee, And More!

While the K-pop phenomenon spread across the globe, more and more Korean idols are also attempting to appeal to international fans with covers of English songs.

Granted, K-pop songs often employ English to appeal to non-Korean fans (check out 2NE1's English version of "Can't Nobody"), far fewer idols attempt to sing full English covers, especially if they are not fluent in the language.

But a good example of a K-pop singer knocking an English song out of the park is Lee Hi with her rendition of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep."

And while combining Lee Hi and Adele seems logical, what about Shinee and Lady Gaga? You don't have to imagine, as that's exactly what Shinee concocted when they performed and danced to "Lets' Dance."

Not only can English songs break barriers and make K-pop idols appeal to a broader demographic, they can also bring together star-studded collaborations, like Taeyang of Big Bang and Junsu of JYJ.

What do Hyorin, Minzy, and Ailee have in common? All three K-pop idols have covered "Halo" by Beyonce with their own unique powerful renditions!

But out of all the established K-pop idols, CL of 2NE1 is one of the most fluent and comfortable singing and rapping in English. A good example of her English skills is this rendition of "Doo Wop (That Thing)" by Lauryn Hill.

So what do you think of these K-pop idols singing English songs? Which one is your favorite?
