Android 4.4 KitKat Now Released For HTC One Unlocked And Developer Editions, Carrier Versions To Receive Update In January

In recent years, HTC has not been known for delivering timely Android updates to its devices. But since it has gone down on a spiral the past couple of years, it seems the Taiwanese manufacturer has finally learned its lesson and is now delivering the new Android 4.4 KitKat to the unlocked and developer versions of its HTC One flagship.

In a report by GSM Arena, HTC USA happily announced that the newest version of Android is now rolling to the said versions of the HTC One starting today.

In recent reports, Android 4.4 KitKat will bring new additions to proud flagship, including Sense 5.5, which is already enjoyed by other HTC One owners outside the US.  The Sense update also provides an option to disable the BlinkFeed feature, which is a welcomed addition.

Like other updates, the report does not expect all HTC One owners in the US to get the update in just one day, so fret not if you aren't seeing the update option in your phone.

As for the carrier models, HTC previously announced that it will release the Android update early next year.
