Is Tori Spelling Trying to Avoid the Taxman? The ‘Broke’ Girl Blows $10,000 On A Thanksgiving Vacation

If there's something Tori Spelling got from his father, it's his penchant for drama.

How else to explain a news report that surfaced regarding Tori's $10,000 spending spree for a Thanksgiving vacation with husband Dean McDermott and their four kids? They even tagged along McDermott's son from his first wife and a nanny.

And that's after she claimed in October that they are too broke they couldn't afford to pay for McDermott's vasectomy.

Which begs the question: is the "Beverly Hills 90210" star trying to avoid the taxman?

Her tweet prior to the getaway seemed harmless enough:"So excited 2get out of LA 4 #thanksgiving!  Some quality family time, just Me, Dean, Jack, Liam, Stella, Hattie, & Finn.  Packed up and on the road."

Of course, she conveniently omitted that they are staying in St. Regis Monarch Bay Resort in Dana Point, California. The hotel is classified as a "Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond awarded resort." A typical room at the hotel can cost nearly $400 a night.

Tori Spelling and her entourage, however, rented three rooms costing $500 each during their four-day stay. They also availed of the $35 valet parking and the majestic buffet at an amazing $115 per adult person and $35 per child.

The couple previously were forced to rent a more "modest" home as they moved out of the grand mansion in Encino, California because they were already broke.

Her book "Spelling It Like It Is" also recounted her experiences as a girl who lived with a silver spoon in her mouth to near bankruptcy.

She was reportedly written off the will of her multi-millionaire father, Aaron Spelling, whose string of TV hits included Charmed, Melrose Place, Dynasty and 7th Heaven. At the time of his death, he was estimated to have left behind to Tori Spelling's mother a $600-million estate.
