Girls' Generation has once again proved to be the international icon of K-Pop.

With the release of TIME Magazine's Top 10 of Everything 2013 list, the nine-member girl group joins the ranks of some of the world's best musicians this year, making it to number five on the annual Top 10 Songs of the Year list.

"I Got a Boy," released on January 1, skyrocketed Girls' Generation to further international fame with its catchy hook and perfect pop hybrid of bubblegum, dubstep, and hard rock - a difficult balance to strike.

The accompanying music video is visually intriguing with clever choreography, setting it far apart from the other songs on this year's list.

It is no wonder why TIME referred to Girls' Generation as a "ridiculously effective hook machine" and "a major phenomenon in Asia."

"I Got a Boy" come from the ladies' fourth Korean studio album of the same name that perfected Girls' Generation's ability to blend genres and create their unique brand of sophisticated K-Pop that had wide-ranging appeal to listeners of all ages and backgrounds.

Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy" joins TIME's list of 2013's best songs alongside music legends David Bowie and Petula Clark, as well as some of the world's best and brightest female singers like Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Haim, and Anna Kendrick.
