Acer C720P Chromebook Release Date: Specs Of Touchscreen Feat. 11.6-inch Display, 32GB SSD & Haswell Processor, Coming This Month For $299.99

Acer 720P Chromebook release date: Specs of the upcoming Chromebook by Acer has been unveiled but the unit is still unavailable in Best Buy or Amazon. Tech strategist John Blossom says that the “Intel Haswell-powered touchscreen Chromebook with 32GB storage” is being offered at an “amazing price” as well.

The update to the Acer C720 Chromebook is expected to arrive this month and it has an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 LED back-lit display, Intel Celeron 2955U Haswell processor, 32GB SSD and 2GB of RAM. It will be on sale by December and will be sold for $299.99.

Other features of the Acer C720P include a long battery life, with the tech company promising up to 7.5 hours battery life. The C720P only weighs 2.98 pounds and is 0.78-inches thick and also has a webcam, dual stereo speakers, USB 3.0/2.0 ports, an external HDMI hook-up and 100GB Google Drive space for two years, described Pocket-lint.com

“Our new touchscreen C720P gives customers an intuitive way to browse sites online, enjoy apps, and do more with Chromebook,” said Arif Mastakia, chief technology officer of Acer.

“The Acer C720 Chromebook line has been praised for its performance and battery life, and this new touchscreen model allows us to address the needs of an even wider range of customers with exciting new capabilities.”

He also said that he expects many holiday shoppers to jump at the chance of getting a touchscreen Chromebook for just $299.99.

Reviewers at Hexus.net seems to agree with Mastakia, writing that Acer C720P is definitely well positioned to try and challenge sales of budget Windows touchscreen notebooks and non-touch Chromebooks during the holiday season.
