The latest news of Wonder Woman being included in the 'Man of Steel' sequel (tentatively titled Batman vs Superman) ended speculations and started a new set.

Part of those speculations has struck super hero fans since these characters were introduced: a love angle between the ideal man (Superman) and the superbly strong woman (Wonder Woman).

There would be one person inevitably caught in the middle: the damsel in distress. Amy Adams, who reprises her role as Lois Lane, spoke to Collider about the possibilities:

"Oh, did they [announce Wonder Woman]? I don't even know, see? So clearly I'm not the person to talk to... Now I know. But that's awesome. I hope I get a scene with her... I think we start in February."

"Am I interested [in a Lois-Superman-Wonder Woman love triangle]? I don't know. I mean, we'll see. I hope that I can be involved with a woman on screen where we're not in a love triangle. That would be fun. Maybe where we team up together and we work as teammates instead of adversaries."

However, that is just one version of the super hero triangle. On numerous portrayals in the comics and also in animated series, a romantic angle between the Dark Knight and the Amazon Princess has often been teased. It was never fully developed and the sequel could be a game-changer if they push that all the way.

The original casting call on the rumor mill was for Batman's love interest which turned out to be Wonder Woman herself.  It has been teased by no less than (director) Zack Snyder himself. On a live Yahoo event, Snyder dropped a teasing statement about the relationship between Batman and Superman, and whether they will get chippy.

"The fun of the idea is to be able to play with that relationship. Whether they fight and become friends, or whether they're friends and they fight... Of course, some physical conflicts will be involved."

What could trigger them to fight if they are on the same side? Until June 2015, we can all dream.
