BTS Member Suga in the Hospital Recovering from Emergency Appendectomy

Bangtan Boys (BTS) member Suga is recovering in the hospital after an emergency appendectomy on December 9.

The 20-year-old idol was reportedly diagnosed with appendicitis the day before in Japan.

While working on some overseas promotions with his BTS group mates, Suga was complaining of a stomachache and went to the hospital to check it out. There, he was diagnosed with appendicitis.

Suga then immediately returned to South Korea and went into surgery in the early morning on December 9.

In a statement to Newsen, the Bangtan Boys' agency, Big Hit Entertainment, said, "Suga had surgery in the morning. After his recovery, his progress will be monitored and then he will return to the planned schedule."

As of now, it seems highly unlikely he will be participating in the group's Japanese fan signing events from December 11 to 13.

The Bangtan Boys are a seven-member hip-hop boy group that debuted in June of this year with the single "No More Dream."

They recently won the MelOn Music Award for New Artist of the Year and last weekend were given the awards for Newcomer Male and Best Single Album for 2 Cool 4 Skool at Europe's premiere K-Pop awards show, the So-Loved Awards.

We wish Suga a speedy recovery!
