Lee Hyori and 2NE1's CL Planning a Collaborative Stage for SBS's '2013 Gayo Daejeon' on Dec. 29

Two of K-Pop's fiercest divas, Lee Hyori and CL, are coming together for a special collaboration at the end of the month.

The two talented stars will appear on stage for a special duet showcase at the 2013 Gayo Daejeon, a special music program televised on SBS each year. This year's annual show will air live on December 29 and will mark the first time the two women have performed together.

Lee Hyori has performed with other members of the YG Family, most notably her sensational shared stage with Big Bang at the 2008 Mnet Korean Music Festival (now known as the Mnet Asian Music Awards).

After debuting as a member of 90's girl group Fin.KL, Lee Hyori went solo in 2003 and has remained one of K-Pop's elite stars ever since.

CL is the leader of YG Entertainment's internationally popular girl group 2NE1. Earlier this year, the singer-rapper declared herself K-Pop's "Baddest Female," with the release of her first solo single album.

According to CL's agency, the ladies began discussing the collaboration during a 2013 MAMA afterparty. The two have a rather close relationship and have been staying in touch over the phone for weeks hashing out plans for Gayo Daejeon.

While similar elements exist between the music styles of CL and Hyori, each singer will have the perfect platform to show off her unique stage presence. And because both divas know how to work a stage, their match-up for the upcoming Gayo Daejeonn has many of us sitting on the edge of our seats.
