World Star Psy Tops Most Viewed K-Pop Music Video on YouTube 2 Years in a Row

Psy is the proud singer of the most viewed K-pop music video on YouTube for 2 consecutive years now.

On December 10th, YouTube announced the top 10 K-pop music videos that were viewed by the public for all of 2013. The data was taken from December of last year to last month, and was compiled by the number of views for each of the videos.

According to this survey, Psy's "Gentleman" has had over 600,000,000 views, the highest of any other K-pop music video on the site. When the video was first uploaded onto YouTube, "Gentleman" recorded not only the most number of views in a day, but also took the shortest amount of time to hit 100,000,000 views.

Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy" took number 2 on this list and proved its popularity. "Dancing Queen" and the Japanese version of "Galaxy Supernova" took 5th and 6th place on the list. Girls' Generation music videos took up a whopping 3 of the top 10 spots for the most viewed K-pop music videos on YouTube in 2013.

EXO's "Growl" and "Wolf" placed 3rd and 4th on this list, respectively, and showed that they are the up and coming Hallyu musicians. Not only that, f(x) placed 7th with "Rum Pum Pum Pum," 2NE1 took 9th place with "Falling in Love," and 4MINUTE was 10th with their song "What's Your Name?"

Another list was compiled for the top 10 user-generation videos in Korea. A female dance team did covers of Psy's "Gentleman" and Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy," which took 1st and 3rd on this list.
