'History Of A Salaryman' Actor Jung Gyu Woon Rushed To Emergency Room After Being Cut By 'Falling Knife' In His Kitchen

South Korean actor Jung Gyu Woon had to be rushed to the hospital on Friday, after he was reportedly cut by a "falling knife" in his kitchen.

"He was organizing items for his newlywed house, putting some kitchen tools above the refrigerator," a rep from Jung's management company Fantagio Entertainment told Newsen.

"He opened the refrigerator door and the tools fell. A knife fell as well and unexpectedly gave him a wound."

"Because it bled, he went to the emergency room, but it was a small wound. He returned home after basic treatment," the rep added.

"Jung Gyu Woon, himself, is also bewildered by this, but it's not an injury that should cause worries or a case that should be blown up. He's apologetic for making people worry."

Jung's spokesperson also claimed reports of how serious the 31-year-old actor had been injured were exaggerated.

"It's true that Jung Gyu Woon did go to the emergency room with a knife injury, but it's not true that his wound is [over two inches] deep," the spokesperson said.

Jung began his acting career in the 2004 mobile drama "Five Stars."

A popular format in South Korea, mobile dramas are content created for viewers to watch on their phone.

The actor soon graduated to television, starring in over a dozen television dramas like "Dr. Champ" and "Loving You a Thousand Times," before landing his first starring role in a feature film as Assistant Manager Woo in 2012's "The Spy."

Yet, Jung has continued to work in the small screen medium, most recently earning rave reviews for his portrayal of a corporate spy in the Seoul Broadcasting System television drama "History of a Salesman."

Jung plans to marry his girlfriend of three years in Seoul in April, according to eNEWS. His fiancé, a 32-year-old former model, currently works as a web designer.
