A painting up on sale in eBay by George Zimmerman is surprisingly getting good bids after it rakes in $110,100 in just a day after posting. Zimmerman has made headlines the past few months after he ws acquitted in the slay of teenager Trayvon Martin.

The bid for the painting, an image of the blue American flag with the words "God," "one nation," and "liberty and justice for all" in the stripes, has four more days to go.

According to TMZ, the painting's latest bid stood at $110,100 with 108 bids and counting. After it was posted for auction, bidders went on an eight-hour frenzy which stopped at 6:21 p.m. PST (9:21 EST) on Monday.

The auction site confirmed the authenticity of the painting through the brother of Zimmerman, Robert.

George Zimmerman described the 18"x24" painting in his eBay account as his first "hand painted artwork."

"Everyone has been asking what I have been doing with myself. I found a creative, way to express myself, my emotions and the symbols that represent my experiences. My art work allows me to reflect, providing a therapeutic outlet and allows me to remain indoors," he posted.

George Zimmerman's painting fondness is a far cry from the controversy he faced when he was tagged in the shooting Martin. The teenager was allegedly walking in the exclusive neighborhood in Sanford town, in what prosecutors claimed was racial profiling. Martin was on his way home after buying Skittles and iced tea from a convenience store.

Zimmerman, for his part, claimed self-defense after he was supposedly attacked by the teenager. He was acquitted of all charges despite the protestations of some cause-oriented groups.

His troubles did not stop there, however, after several brushes with the law. He was cited for domestic violence after a call placed by his former wife who claimed that Zimmerman pulled a gun on her. He was also stopped for a road violation after violating the speed limits in Florida and Texas.
