Samsung Tizen Phone Rumored To Be Launched At MWC 2014, To Showcase 'Major Milestones' Achieved By The Project

In case you are one of the people who are looking forward to the Samsung Tizen phone project, then this news would certainly brighten up your day.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the smartphone OS which has been in development during the past year is reportedly going to be launched during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in 2014.

In the past few months, the Korean manufacturer has partnered with a number of premier companies such as Intel, Panasonic, eBay, Sharp, and McAfee among others just to develop and launch its first Samsung Tizen phone.

More importantly, analysts see the Tizen project as a crucial move for Samsung to use its popularity in the smartphone market to develop its own platform and not rely mainly on Google's Android OS.

With the Tizen OS launch just around the corner, the competition for smartphone OS supremacy becomes much more exciting. Other platforms which were launched this year include Jolla's Sailfish, Mozilla's Firefox OS, and Oppo's Color OS. The interesting point here is that most of these new platforms support 3rd party Android applications, which already dismisses the argument for insufficient apps and games.

What could the Tizen OS offer for both Samsung and Android fans? Once the first Samsung Tizen phone is revealed during the MWC in February 2014, we would all know the answer.
