iPad Pro Rumors: Apple Allegedly Leaving Retina Displays In Favor Of 2K And 4K Displays For Upcoming iPads

If you have been checking iPad Pro rumors lately, you would have noticed that Apple is veering toward higher resolutions, and away from its famed Retina display. According to a report, this is highly probable.

In a report by The News Tribe, Apple may ditch the Retina displays for its tablet lineup, and instead focus on giving a huge bump on screen resolution.

Released just a couple of months ago, the iPad Air is Apple's most powerful and good-looking tablet to date, but it fell short in reviews and comparisons especially with Android tablets which packed more screen resolution for a better viewing experience. The iPad Air's display is a far cry from that of Amazon's Kindle Fire HDX, considered by many as one of the top devices as far as display is concerned.

According to a Chinese news site, PadNews, Apple is rumored to be testing its tablets packed with both 2K and 4K displays. In case the rumor pans out to be true, the 2K iPad Pro could be launched in Q2 2014 alongside the rumored iPhone 6 with a bigger display.

Meanwhile, the 4K version, which would boast a whopping 4096 x 3072 screen resolution, may be announced in the latter half of the year.

Even before it starts, 2014 promises to be another successful year for the mobile industry, and Apple is already spearheading the campaign for revolutionary devices.
