The most loved genre of the year was none other than ballads, as revealed by Gaon Charts on December 27th.

Gaon Charts revealed, "If you take a close look at digital chart's TOP 50 by genre, ballad takes up 26% of the number 1 spots. Rap and hip-hop tied for 2nd place with OSTs at 18%, and idol dance music took 3rd place with 16% of the songs."

For the past year, ballads received the most love from music fans. In the Top 50 were many popular songs, including Huh Gak and Yoo Seung Woo's "Monodrama" in 7th place, Davichi's "Turtle" in 8th, Davichi's "Be Warned" in 10th, K.Will's "Love Blossom" in 11th, Lyn's "Tonight" in 17th, Lee Seung Chul's "My Love" in 18th, Huh Gak and Jung Eunji's "Short Hair" in 24th, 4MEN's "Propose Song" in 25th, 4MEN's "Hello It's Me" in 26th, Vibe's "For the Last Time" in 32nd, Lim Kim's "Alright" in 37th, Huh Gak's "1440" in 38th, Baek Ji Young's "I Hate It" in 40th, and 2AM's "One Spring Day" in 45th place.

TOP 50's rap and hip hop genre songs include Baechigi's "Shower of Tears" in the top 2, Leessang's "Tears" in top 5, Geeks' "How Are You" in the top 27, Bumkey's "Bad Girl" in the top 29, Geeks' "Officially Missing You, Too" in 33rd, Primary's "?" in 39th, Geeks' "Wash Away" in 42nd, and Dynamic Duo's "Baaam" in 49th.

The idol dance genre songs included SISTAR19's "Gone Not Around Any Longer" in 3rd, 4MINUTE's "What's Your Name" in 6th, SISTAR's "Give It to Me" in 9th, Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy" in 13th, Girl's Day's "Expect" in 21st, SECRET's "Yoo Hoo" in 28th, A Pink's "NoNoNo" in 35th, and SHINee's "Dream Girl" in 43rd place.

The number 1 song to receive love from the public for 2013's digital TOP 50 songs in Korea was Psy's ever popular song "Gentleman."
