Beyonce After Blue Ivy Carter Birth: ‘I Wanted To Show My Body’ In ‘Partition’ Music Video After Losing 65 Pounds, She Says

Beyonce revealed that she lost 65 pounds after giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Beyonce said she wanted to show off all her hard work by showing her body in the "Partition" music video, and that she doesn't think mothers should be afraid to feel sexy after giving birth.

In part four of Beyonce's Self-Titled documentary called Liberation, she defends her sexy music video for "Partition," and revealed a significant weight loss after giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

"I was very aware of the fact that I was showing my body. I was 195 pounds when I gave birth, I lost 65 pounds, I worked crazily to get my body back. I wanted to show my body," Beyonce said.

"I wanted to show that you can have a child and you can work hard and you can get your body back. I know finding my sensuality, getting back into my body, being proud of growing up, it was important to me that I expressed that in my music because there are so many women that feel the same thing after they give birth."

According to E! News, the burlesque-themed video shows Jay Z's wife dancing in numerous sexy ensembles, including a thong at one point.

In the documentary, Beyonce also added that she wants to inspire new mothers to not be ashamed of their sexuality.

"You can have your child and still have fun and still be sexy and still have dreams and still have yourself," she shared. "I don't at all have any shame in being sexual and I'm not embarrassed about it...I don't feel like I have to protect that side of me because I do believe that sexuality is a power that we all have," she said.
