Arrow Season 2 Spoilers: Felicity And Oliver Growing Relationship In Danger? ‘Barricity’ Has Chemistry Says Executive Producers!

Arrow Season 2 MAJOR Spoilers alert! Looks like Arrow's Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Oliver (Stephen Amell) might not be starting a romantic relationship any sooner now that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is around.

WARNING: Major spoiler about Arrow Season 2 Episode 8 and 9 follows.

When Arrow's executive producers revealed that Barry Allen AKA "The Flash" will have an appearance on the show, not everyone anticipated that he will get in the way between Felicity and Oliver.

But, before the mid-season finale of Arrow Season 2 aired, viewers saw the growing interest between the Barry and Felicity. Although Barry recognizes Felicity's undeniable concern for Oliver, he took a step further by asking Felicity out on a date just as the episode is about to finish.

Even before the episode aired, the show's executive procedures shared some insights and teasers on how "The Flash" will make an entrance to the show.

The executive producers of the show talked to TVLine last December 2 and revealed some interesting details as to how Barry will affect the dynamics of the original Arrow cast.

When asked how they plan to introduce Barry to the show, Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that the writers are "talking about Oliver and Felicity and their growing... feelings for each other. [Because] Barry and Felicity are so similar - they're both a bit uncomfortable in their own skins and very likable and personable - it just seemed like they would instantly hit it off, which would just complicate things for Oliver even more. It felt like the right way to go," Kreisberg revealed.

From Episode 8, we saw how Felicity and Barry "hit it off," and Oliver was truly uncomfortable every time the three are in the same place.

Will this end Felicity and Oliver's "growing feelings for each other?" It's still too early to tell.

However, the show's executive producer couldn't also deny the chemistry between Rickards and Gustin. In fact, when the producers talked to TVLine, they tested the chemistry of the two beforehand.

Apparently, Rickards was brought in to do a reading with Gustin. Executive Producer Greg Berlanti also said, "We wanted to make sure he didn't seem like jailbait next to her." After the reading, Kreisberg revealed that "it was like a done deal."

While it is still too early to predict the fate of "Olicity," Arrow's executive producer Kreisberg also revealed that Barry's entrance to the show might affect the relationship of Oliver and Felicity.

"It's certainly something we pick up in Episode 10, because the fallout... carries over into the next episodes as far as the Oliver/Felicity relationship is concerned," Kreisberg said.

Kreisberg further added, "Barry has had a profound effect on them, and that will carry through."
