Friends Reunion 2014 A Hoax? Rumors Spread Producers Are Just Waiting on Jenifer Aniston, Who Can’t Even Sit Through a Syndicated Repeat

A Friends reunion for 2014 may just be the latest hoax brought on by a hope held out by fans, but rumors are spreading that "Friends" producers are trying to convince actress Jennifer Aniston to join a reunion in 2014.

The rumors went into overdrive after Jennifer Aniston had a holiday reunion with one of her "Friends" friends when she spent a Mexican holiday with Courtney Cox.

Jennifer Aniston is the last holdout to a "Friends" reunion in 2014. The actress whose hairstyle started a nationwide trend has been avoiding getting back together with her "Friends" castmates. That's not surprising considering she can't even sit through a whole episode when it comes up on TV.

When Parade magazine asked Jennifer Aniston whether she watched reruns of her old show she said "Yes, I'll stop and watch, though not the whole thing. It's fun for a second-you're like, what's this one?"

But rumors say Jennifer Aniston is being "slowly convinced" to do a "Friends" reunion in 2014 to coincide with the 20th Anniversary of the debut of "Friends."

A source told OK! magazine "Since the show ended in 2004 it's been rare for all six of them to appear in public together. But with next year's 20th anniversary (of the show's launch) it will be unavoidable for them to do something together. It's the perfect excuse to talk seriously about a new project. It's no secret the whole project will be pinned on Jennifer, who's incredibly busy with her movie career. But she's been slowly convinced that a reunion could be a good thing."

Right around this time last year, Matthew Perry hosed down rumors that the WB was organizing a Friends Thanksgiving 2014 reunion special.

Lisa Kudrow says she never gets tired of people asking her about a "Friends" reunion. Kudrow told Conan that she feels bad whenever she says it'll never happen. Lisa Kudrow was fooled by an Internet hoax about a Thanksgiving 2014 "Friends" reunion. She told Conan "The headline was, 'NBC Confirms: 5 Out Of The 6 'Friends' Are In,'" Kudrow recalled. "And I went, 'Oh my God! They didn't ask me!'"

"Friends" was a runaway hit in the 90s. Taking the slot vacated by "Mad About You" and coming after the classic comedy "Seinfeld," it told the story of a bunch of friends living in New York City and drinking coffee. Jennifer Aniston was the fans' favorite. NBC's big hit "Friends" had a decade long successful run.

Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston rocked Cabo in bikinis this weekend when they took a Mexican vacation together. Cox and Aniston have remained friends since 2004 when "Friends" ended.

Courtney Cox joined Aniston and her fiancé Justin Theroux and Howard Stern and his wife Beth Ostrosky.

A source told US Weekly "Courtney was hanging out with Jen and they seemed to be as close as ever. They spent a lot of time talking by the pool and laughing together with Justin.

Jennifer Aniston is godmother of Courtney Cox's daughter, Coco, in 2004.

Since "Friends" ended in 2004, Aniston has had a successful movie career, most recently in the movie "We're the Millers." But Jennifer Aniston hasn't ever really been able to put her character "Rachel" behind her. Producers have wanted to Aniston to reunite with castmates Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, since they broke up and it looks like that will finally happen in 2014.

Courteney Cox, who played Monica Geller on the 90s hit sitcom, best friend to Jennifer's Rachel Green, has stayed close friends with Aniston and has been helping to pave the way for the reunion.

The source said "Courteney has been telling Jennifer that she and Matthew Perry have still got that amazing chemistry after shooting just a few scenes with him guest starring on her TV show "Cougar Town." It was as though no time has passed at all."

There is no word on whether the "Friends" cast will reunite for a TV special or a movie.
