According to spoilers, guest stars include F. Murray Abraham ("Homeland"), Mathew Lillard and Christopher Fitzgerald.

Meanwhile, spoilers confirm that Eli will hire Kalinda to investigate Marilyn after she delivers the baby "Peter" stunt. Did Peter once again cheat on Alicia, or is Marilyn trying to start a new scandal?

"The Good Wife" season 5 is not even half over, but the series has made many publications' "best of 2013" TV listings for its unforgettable episodes so far this season.

"One needs to look no further than this hour for proof that CBS' critical darling can run with the best of cable giants like 'Breaking Bad' and 'Mad Men' when firing on all cylinders," wrote a Seattle PI contributor regarding "The Good Wife" episode "Hitting the Fan."

"What to say about this game-changing episode that hasn't been said already? It was expertly paced, the musical score was top notch and the acting was nothing short of phenomenal. Five seasons in and 'The Good Wife' turned itself on its head and hasn't looked back since," added Chris Harnick on E! Online.

"The Good Wife" season 5 will return Sunday, January 5.
