Pokemon Bank Deemed A Failure Despite Release Date Rumor: X And Y Fans Not Impressed

2014 has arrived, and Nintendo is not off to a good start as a Pokemon Bank release date remains uncertain.

Recently, a January 7 release date for Pokemon Bank has been circulating the web after the service was taken off the Nintendo eShop last month.

According to Liberty Voice, an alleged Nintendo announcement slated the Pokemon Bank release date for the U.S. on January 7, January 3 for Oceania, and December 30 for Europe.

This is almost certainly a fake announcement, as December 30 has already come and gone and the Pokemon Bank service remains off the Nintendo eShop is all regions, including Japan.

So far, none of the official channels for Nintendo or Pokemon has made mention of a release date for Pokemon Bank, leaving fans annoyed as the transferring of Pokemon from older generations remain delayed.

Although it has only been a week since the delay, many Pokemon fans are frustrated and even calling the service a failure altogether.

"Can we all agree that Pokemon Bank was a failure," writes Regidudeam on Pokejungle.

"In a way yes, but I think it was more a case of not realizing how popular it would be. They didn't have enough servers and thus it broke the Internet," adds Miniryu.

But, others are more optimistic about Nintendo and Pokemon Bank.

"Not at all. Sure, they're having delays and problems but nearly everything has problems. They took it off the eShop to fix said problems. The search features for [Pokemon Bank] are great," opines ShinyNoivern.

Whenever Pokemon Bank might receive a release date, will you still use the service to save your Pokemon collection?
