Promoter For Myanmar's Korea Music Festival Reports Scams Days Before Tickets Go On Sale: Concert To Include Sistar, U-KISS

K-pop fans in Myanmar are so excited for the Korea Music Festival, scheduled to be held on Feb. 8 in the city of Yangon, that they are snatching up tickets before they have even gone on sale, according to promoter Pee Paw of Pee Paw Entertainment.

The Korea Music Festival bill is scheduled to include K-pop groups Sistar, U-KISS, ZE:A and After School.

"Many fans are interested in this Korea Music Festival," Paw told the news outlet Eleven Myanmar. "I heard that tickets have been sold for this concert. These tickets are not real."

Tickets for the event do not officially go on sale until Saturday.

"We will only sell the tickets after January 11," Paw said. "Fans can only go inside with the real tickets so they need to be aware of fake tickets."

South Korean actor Song Il Kook will also appear at the Korea Music Festival, to be held at Yangon's National Theatre. He has reportedly already visited Myanmar in the past for the Korean Film Festival, which has been held in Yangon since 1998.

According to the publication Shanghai Daily, concert security will be tightened for the event.

"We have been planning to hold this Korea Music Festival for a long time now," Paw said.

"We selected the Korean celebrities that Myanmar fans are already familiar with. The actor who is known as Jumong in Myanmar [Song Il Kook] and Korean idol groups including the famous girl group Sistar will be performing in this festival. All of them are young singers. I believe Myanmar fans will like them as they are already familiar with these singers who have unique choreography and songs."
