Ten Year Team Members Of Super Junior Share The Tragedy

Super Junior members shared in their team leader's grief.

On January 8th, Super Junior leader Leeteuk's father and grandparents' funeral took place at the Korea University Guro Hospital in Seoul. Super Junior members joined their leader in grieving for the lost.

The members stayed at the mortuary until very late at night, left for a short break, and went back early the next morning. They gathered 30 minutes prior to the funeral to prepare for it.

When the survivors headed from the 2nd floor of the mortuary to the basement, Heechul, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kangin, Shindong, and Kyuhyun followed them. Leeteuk stood behind the photo, heartbroken, and could not hide his tears as they streamed down his face. The Super Junior members stood behind him with solemn faces.

The send off ceremony took about 10 minutes, then the coffin was loaded onto the funeral car. While the survivors sobbed, the Super Junior members carried the coffin with sorrowful faces. While the coffin was transferred, Leeteuk had a blank expression and continued to shed tears.

The Super Junior members stayed with Leeteuk until the very last moment. Just as sorrow is halved when it is shared, the Super Junior members shared in Leeteuk's sorrow, and showed great loyalty to their leader. That's one of the many reasons why Super Junior is still one of the best idol groups, even in their 10th anniversary of their debut.
