'Gone Girl' Movie Stars Ben Affleck And Rosamund Pike Look Creepy In Latest Magazine Cover; Author Gillian Flynn Says Movie Will Not Have Sequel Despite Its 'Unjust' Ending

'Gone Girl' movie stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike graced the cover of Entertainment Weekly's 2014 preview issue. Playing the role of dysfunctional couple Nick and Amy, the two prove why 'Gone Girl' is one of the 2014 movies based on books which should be awaited for.

In the said cover, 'Gone Girl' movie stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike both lay on a metal table. However, the cover appears creepy for Affleck is photographed embracing the stiff corpse of his on-screen wife.

While the magazine cover is not an official film still from the thriller novel, the image is enough to hint that something took place which made Nick and Amy's marriage awry. An excerpt from 'Gone Girl's' synopsis on Goodreads reads:

"On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River."

Worse, Nick is being eyed as the prime suspect for his wife's disappearance. While some fans were surprised with the novel's twisted ending, writer Gillian Flynn confirmed that 'Gone Girl' wouldn't have a follow-up book: "First of all, I didn't write it as an open ending to set up a sequel at all. It was the only thing that made sense to me, that made sense to what was true to the book and true to the characters."

Nonetheless, fans are in for another surprise for David Fincher's adaptation of the book's ending has been completely reworked. Details as to how the ending was rewritten would follow.

'Gone Girl' also stars Casey Williams, Neil Patrick Harris, Missi Pyle, and Tyler Perry. It will hit silver screens on October 3.
