Recently, Doctor Who TV revealed that writer Phil Ford will be scripting episode 2 of season 8. He has contributed numerous stories to "The Sarah Jane Adventures," a "Doctor Who" spin-off.

“This time I’ve made sure we’ve got a bunch of characters around him so that we can have a new Doctor introduced and we can push that Doctor a bit further if you’ve got a familiar world around him," said Moffat regarding the season 8 premiere.

Indeed, recent set photos revealed that "Doctor Who" season 8 premiere will not only feature Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman, but Neve McIntosh as Madame Vastra, Catrin Stewart as Jenny Flint, and Dan Starkey as Strax.
