Gary Shows Off Two Distinct Sides Of Himself In 'ZOTTO MOLA' And 'Shower Later' Music Videos

LeeSsang rapper and Running Man cast member Gary has officially made his first solo venture with the release of his mini-album MR. GAE and two music videos for the tracks "ZOTTO MOLA" and "Shower Later."

The songs and their accompanying music videos provide an excellent view of Gary's wide-ranging talents as a songwriter, rapper, and producer and encompass two very different aspects of his style.

Released via the official LOEN Music YouTube channel on January 15 (KST), the videos for "ZOTTO MOLA" and "Shower Later" are both captivating despite being incredibly different from one another.

"ZOTTO MOLA" was released first and conveys a simple concept. In the video, shot entirely in black and white, Gary is seen withing a cylindrical tank that is slowly filling with water. As he raps, he is gradually covered with water until, at the song's conclusion he is completely submerged and sinks to the bottom.

The video is simple yet entrancing giving the viewer the perfect set up to focus on the song's lyrics. Gary rarely makes direct eye contact with the camera making him appear inadvertently declarative with his words.

"ZOTTO MOLA" has a simple beat and creates the perfect atmosphere for Gary to showcase his signature off-tempo rap style.

But unlike his releases with LeeSsang, the first solo single by Gary seems very personal and important to him.

Two hours after revealing the "ZOTTO MOLA," Gary's next music video, this time for the track "Shower Later," was revealed on YouTube, taking on an entirely different aspect of his personality.

"Shower Later" is an R&B track that should probably carry an adults only rating.

The hyper-sexualized music video is juxtaposed against the lyrics which are actually rather sweet.

The video is so full of visual sexual innuendos that it is somewhat distracting upon first view.

However, despite what many of the YouTube comments suggest, the overt sexuality expressed by the women in the "Shower Later" music video was not meant to be taken seriously.

In fact, even if at first glance it seems very far from Gary's personality and persona (especially the quirky and flirtatious side he displays on Running Man), "Shower Later" actually embodies his awkward side perfectly.

And even though Gary seems to be holding himself together, it is easy to picture him goofing off on set and one can only imagine how many takes they had to do before getting it right.
