Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo in talks to  will reunite, but not as Ellen and Clark Griswold, for a TV series based on their hit 'Vacation' movies. The pilot is based on an idea by producer Aaron Kaplan, who produces "The Neighbors," about grandparents who are forced to raise their grandchildren. Kaplan, a big fan of the Vacation franchise, approached D'Angelo with the idea. The Chevy Chase-Beverly D'Angelo project is being considered for the 2015-16 season.

Beverly D'Angelo and Chevy Chase will play a couple, now in their 60s, "who are finally enjoying their golden years" until their grand-kids come to live with them. Doesn't sound like much of a Vacation. Beverly D'Angelo and Chase won't be playing the Griswolds from the "Vacation" movies.

According to reports deals have been closed for Beverly D'Angelo and Chevy Chase and D'Angelo on the Vacation project, which is based on an original idea by Aaron Kaplan, the executive producer of the show. Kaplan hopes to have it ready for the 2015-2016 development season. D'Angelo's last major role on TV was as agent Barbara Miller on Entourage.

The man who said "I'm Chevy Chase you're not" when he was a Not Ready for Prime Time Player is dipping back into his National Lampoon past for a new comedy for ABC. Chevy Chase will reunite with Beverly D'Angelo, his "National Lampoon's Vacation" co-star, for a comedy project being developed for ABC's 2015-16 season.

Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo appeared in the "National Lamoon's Vacation" as well as its sequels "European Vacation," "Christmas Vacation" and "Vegas Vacation." Chase and D'Angelo's Clark and Ellen Griswold might appear in a Vacation reboot for the big screen as well.

Chevy Chase did his time on "Community" and in spite of a public meltdown, it revived his career. Community star Joel McHale  told Howard Stern that Chase "didn't want to be there. When I would try [to get him to talk], he would just try to fight me. He physically wanted to fight me."

Chevy left Community last year but they couldn't get rid of him from TV. Chase showed up for the Community's season opener in cameo appearance. Beverly D'Angelo will be next seen in CBS' upcoming "Friends With Better Lives." Before that D'Angelo had a recurring role on the HBO show "Entourage" and "The Simpsons."

There have been rumors that Chevy Chase would reprise the role of Clark Griswold for a new Vacation film starring Ed Helms as a grown-up Rusty Griswold since he left Community during season 4. Chase, Beverly D'Angelo and producer Aaron Kaplan say the show is in the early stages of development. They don't have a script or even a writer and they don't have studio attached to the project yet, but it will be in consideration for the 2015-16 season.
