A Florida promotion company has now filed a lawsuit against one of Miley's alleged booking agent, after the said agent asked for a $125,000 for the "Wrecking Ball" singer's deposit fee. The promoters of the event wire transferred the amount to the agent's bank account to secure Miley's performance.
The promotion company believed that they were talking to one of Miley's agent. However, the woman said the she is not working for Miley, but is acting as an intermediary. She also claimed that the money deposited to her was forwarded to Miley's real agents.
Representatives of Miley Cyrus has told TMZ that the twerking queen pop star has nothing to do with the issue - in fact she didn't even know that such transaction exists and that she was booked for a gig on New Year's Day at Miami.
Meanwhile, MTV has announced that Miley will be starring in her own MTV unplugged entitled "Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged" to be aired on January 29.
"Unplugged," of course, is the 25-year-old MTV franchise that's given us memorable performances from the likes of Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Jay Z, Korn, and dozens more. As with many of those earlier iterations, the network teases in a press release that the Miley edition will "showcase a more intimate side of Cyrus and feature surprise guests for an unexpected re-invention of the songs that have defined her career, including several from her #1 critically acclaimed album, Bangerz," as stated by CNN.
