What’s The Difference Between Gary’s Sexy and Girl Groups’ Sexy?

The competition is hot this January in the music industry with all these singers coming back with a sexy concept. Gary's new song "Shower Later" featured explicit lyrics and a racy music video, and drew attention with its extreme sexiness. The recent girl group comebacks have featured sexy concepts as well, with sexy stage attire and sexy performances.

While both Gary's and the girl groups' sexy both target male audiences, but the way they expressed themselves are very different.

Gary's sexy is very unique. He didn't start off as a solo artist, and instead has been active in his duo group Leessang. His new song earned him a badge of 'not appropriate for anyone under 10.' He broke out of his usual Leessang activities and entertainment activity character and brought a new image to light.

The resulting image is a sexy that is more explicit and direct than ever. The lyrics contain bold words that ride the song's groove. Numerous Eastern and Western beauties make an appearance in the music video and hint at various sexual acts. One fashion magazine columnist commented on Twitter, "It surpasses anything you can image." This description is understandable once you've viewed Gary's music video.

Girl's Day, Rainbow BLAXX, and AOA's sexy concept are shown through the members' stage attire and their unconventional performance. Music fans can spot the girl groups' sexiness through music videos and their music program performances.

Girl's Day's "Something" performance resembles Park Ji Yoon's "Coming of Age." Their stage attire and dance moves highlight the members' bodies. Their skirts have a long slit up the side, and command the viewer's attention.

Rainbow BLAXX and AOA were a little more daring. Rainbow BLAXX's new "ChaCha" music video shows the members wearing corsets and garter belts. Their dance makes it seem like they're wielding whips, and the 4 members use their hips to highlight sexy moves. AOA wore a mini one piece dress. For their performance they got on the floor, open and close the zippers on their dresses, and use these bold dance moves to make it hard for any viewer to take their eyes off the performance. It's like a call to temptation.

The girls' sexiness differs from Gary's in that it leaves much up to the imagination. While the lyrics speak of simple love stories, when it's combined with the members' stage attire and performance, it completes their sexiness.

One music rep commented, "Taking off more and more clothes does not automatically warrant success. The sexy concept cannot be indiscrete or indiscriminate. The sexy colors must be clear in order to appeal to the public. That's when sexy comes off as a concept and not just another aimless sexiness."
