January Was Sexy War, February Is ‘Oppa’ War?

Who will make it to the top? February will be a month when boy groups will wage war for the top spot on music charts.

Fan girls will be excited to know that boy groups will be entering the scene en masse in February. Each of the groups is eyeing that number 1 spot. EXO already proved last year how what hot the fan world can become when they go onto the stage. Boy groups are more determined to have a successful comeback next month.

Two-year old B.A.P, last year's rookie BTS, and this year's rookie WINNER will all be working towards the number 1 title.

B.A.P held a huge showcase as soon as they debuted, and even held their solo concert just 1 year into their debut. They've proved themselves as teen warriors. They're currently planning for a huge promotion for their new song. In 2 years since their debut B.A.P will be releasing their first full-length album, titled First Sensibility on February 3rd.

Their target group has widened. They're changing the image they've portrayed until now, and are going with a sexy guy concept to appeal to a broader audience group. The teaser reveals the members wearing black suits, who are showing off their dandy charm. It wouldn't be wrong to say they've managed to capture the hearts of female fans in their 20s and 30s. In addition to their first full-length album, they will be holding a solo concert. Last year they held concerts in Korea, South America, and even Japan. This year they will be holding their 2nd solo concert at the Olympic Park SK Handball Stadium in Seoul from March 8th to the 9th.

BTS had a successful debut last year, even taking the rookie award. They're planning to be the idol image for teens this year as well. But this time they've changed from the rebel image to a sweet boy image. Their mini album will be released on February 12th, and is titled Skool Luv Affair. To go along with the title, the song will be about teens' love story.

They released "No More Dream" and "N.O." last year, and the songs represented the teens' dreams and happiness. Now they're taking on teen love, and it's likely that they'll be a representative group for teens everywhere. The members themselves directly participated in working on the songs, and plan to draw out the youth's emotions perfectly.

There's a group that's going for the rookie award this year, and it's none other than JYP Entertainment's GOT7. Their new song "Girls, Girls, Girls" took the number 1 spot when they debuted. YG Entertainment's WINNER is awaiting their debut. Last year the two groups battled one another on Mnet's "WIN: Who Is Next." WINNER then went on to star on the debut project reality program "Winner TV." The show is scheduled to end mid-February, which is hopefully when the group will debut, too.

WINNER displays their individual charms and personalities through their reality program. They are YG's first boy group after Big Bang, so there are the extremely high expectations for the new group. The members have built up their onstage experience, and have even gone on to write their own songs. They're bound to be compared to Big Bang, and their similarities and differences will be interesting to see.

GOT7 will continue their activities this year. Through their "Girls Girls Girls" debut performance they've showcased a whole new level of difficulty. The group is made up of different nationality members that each show off their masculine charm. Their activities are expected to continue on for the month of February.
